Floppy Disks, thoughts, evolution, Toby, planing, time wastage, and other things…

Good Evening.

It’s 26.5°C in here. Was 26.6°C 2 hours ago… and 26.3°C 8 hours ago…

Similar temperature last night, so I didn’t sleep much, which gave me plenty of time to think… a few things…

For example, what I’ll get parents for their Birthdays (in November). Last few I’ve got mother series of House on DVD, but she’s weird, and doesn’t want the ones she’s seen on TV already… so I may have to buy those some time. I like watching House, more fun then CSI, or Law and Order where you can try to guess who the killer is. In House, what disease is it?

I’ve spent the last few days watching Toby’s videos on BlogTV, 327 there, watching from 327-1, I’m currently on 244. So that’s fun. Where was i?

Ahh yes, I think the next season of house I need to buy Mother is 7. 7, nice number. Liked by Bungie, the number of seasons there was of Buffy, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Nightmare on Elm Street Films, (Excluding crossovers, and remakes) the favoured number of the Chaos God Nurgle and Bungie.

Oh and apparently “7, nice number.” Doesn’t constitute a sentence.

And of course, thinking about Human Evolution. Of course we evolve, we’re evolving at the moment, maybe not naturally in all respects. We of course evolve resistance to diseases, especially in places where healthcare isn’t as readily available.

Then you have regional evolution. The sherpas in Nepal, or wherever they are, I’ll check.

Yup, Nepal.

Anyway, they’ve acquired additional blood vessels, about twice as many capillaries as other groups to help tolerate the high altitude, and low oxygen. Then since human history began average human height’s changed drastically. We’ve gone from average of about 4 -5 feet, to most Russians being over 6 feet, according to Simi. I’m too lazy to check…

Hmm, Toby’s weirder then I thought… http://www.blogtv.com/Shows/170619/date/ZeRHbm3xae3wZ2VGbH that was what? October 18th 2008.

When I say that, I don’t mean I’m too lazy to fly to Russia, and start measuring them in the street. That’d be fun. Especially if I had a Passport… But Googling something? That’s far too much effort for this. Also, I was in bed half asleep when I was thinking about this, my computer was turned off so no internet, but international travel? That’s easy.

For those of you who weren’t present at Dinner here last night, which resulted in me spending six hours, forty minutes at the table with parents, and siblings. We began casual discussion regarding a ‘birthday do’ for me and Simi. So I’ll make an event on facebook sometime soon. It’d probably be Friday 26th August (My birthday. And Simis’, remarkably) for those of you it concerns. But I’ll get to that later.

Where was i? can’t remember.

So, what else. There was more of my half sleeping thinks, but they occurred between about 03:00 and 06:00, that was 14 hours ago… my memory doesn’t go that far.

Near future, Driving lesson tomorrow, at something like 13:15… Torchwood tomorrow too. Certainly the more interesting of the two, if less useful. I tend to watch the entire series up to that point on iPlayer for those things. So, tomorrow if I don’t get distracted by Toby, I’ll be watching 3 hours of Torchwood. Get’s fun near then end of the series.

And I’m hoping Toby finishes this story before this episode ends… it’s something I’ve wanted to know for a while and he keeps getting distracted…

Oh goody, he didn’t miss it between recordings :).

Anyway, firefox is slow. Possibly because I have 35 Tabs open. What are they?

Now I’m thirsty. And you didn’t need to know that list… but you probably didn’t need to know anything else I’ve said…

I need to get a Zebra. For Emski… a real live one. (Not the album, a description of a Zebra.)

Yeah! Oil Lamps!

I’m actually doing something soon. But I’ll discuss that afterwards.

So, yeah. Just starting video 240. I was watching Dexter before I found these… kinda messed that up.

102 new tweets.

And I’m hungry… nothing overly interesting to eat last time I checked… also no coke. Not the real stuff of course, ‘vive! Cola’.

Hmm, an angelic kettle…

For some reason mother always buys the diet cola, which has practically no taste. Recently she bought some of the cola zero. Even less taste there. For some reason she refuses to but the original type stuff. More sugar, it’ll rot your teeth. Not it won’t, I don’t leave them to soak in a drink overnight. Saliva? Maybe.

Hmm, behind the scenes AI phone…

People can’t spell… and Toby bursts into song a lot…

Hide, you’re fat. Are you pregnant again? Strange cat…

Mmm. Twix’s Hate them, didn’t stop me eating 3 of them though. Very hungry… I should eat more… not more twix’s, twixes? Twixs’? I don’t know… but yeah, more meals.

Making saltwater in powder toy. Instead of just placing saltwater, I have walls round the edge, a wall across neat the bottom that only allows solids, at the very bottom portal in, a bit of portal out at the top. A few dots separated enough to stop them interfering with each other. Put water in the top, on the solid only wall. Fill the gap lined with portal in with salt, with then falls through the water, some of it dissolves, and the salt which doesn’t falls through the wall, back into the portal, and so on. Till all the salts dissolved, or all the water has salt in… yeah. That’s about as interesting as it sounds, but I’ve been doing it for about nine and a half hours.

I want to back up my computer (Well, hard drive) on floppy disks… that’d be fun. How much do they cost?

To amazon!

About 3-4 quid for 10. 1.44mb on each, currently using 371.5 GB.

398,865,043,456 bytes. So, err… 1.44MB, approx. 1440 KB, 188,700 bytes.

398,865,043,456÷188,700= 2113752.2175729. let’s round that up to 2113753, then to 2113760 as I’d be buying them in tens. Oh, this is assuming I can perfectly fill every single one, no free space (and they’re formatted, and no additional formatting is needed for this) by the way. At £3 for 10, that’s £634,128 worth of floppy disks! Excellent.

You can get a 500GB external hard drive for £30. Err… I think that’s the better option.

Bleh, choked on toothpaste… not a good feeling.

Anyway, I’m done now. Thanks for reading, and I hope this was more enjoyable then my last post.

Ta-ta.

Mass Effect Races, Council, and 2 others… so far…

Posted in advertising, Family, Father, Food, Games, Mass Effect, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, Mother, PC, thoughts, XBOX 360 on 15/05/2011 by willsalt

Good evening.

A few things I want to write, but I’m not going to, because they seem a bit whiney, childish, insensitive or something…

So, I had pizza again, dominoes this time though. That was fun, and parents disappeared somewhere. And played mass effect.

Races, of course you have the humans, which are semi-accurately portrayed. There are groups who oppose the usual command structure, the Alliance, the xenophobes, and the humans egocentricity. But I disapprove of the council giving the humans so much, and the ability to get an all human council. Still never tried ME2 with that…

Then you have the Asari, who in my opinion are a bit weird. Their reproductive method doesn’t make sense, randomising their DNA for their offspring, illogical! For one thing, if they randomised the base sequence, the chances of getting a correct/viable/usable protein sequence is negligible. Then they sometimes say it only randomises parts, but for any of that to work, it requires each Asari to store every variable gene, but then what stops all the available genes from activating? (They can’t just be stored in one place, because I’m sure there are cloned Asari somewhere that are capable of reproducing… even if the last part isn’t portrayed.) But otherwise the Asari are a bit boring, they live about 1000 years, and were aquatic. Nothing wrong with that.

Turians, my personal second favourite race. Metallic scales is an interesting feature, aesthetically they are very interesting. They’re supposed to be based on a dinosaur-bird thing, but I’ve always thought their facial structure was more feline. And they’re very cute. I disapprove of them (and Asari for that matter) coincidently being nearly identical in physical ability to humans, (in terms of strength, speed, intellect and size.) although I do much prefer the Turian mentality to that of humans. All obedient, and honour bound.

Then, the last council race, the Salarians. I certainly approve of them have an inferior race. That is to say, physically inferior. I’m tired of things like Predator, start trek, and I really wish I could think of another example, where the aliens are generally physically equal or superior humans. I’ll admit star trek has some weaklings.

But the Salarians are so much better written, they have the increased technological ability, and intelligence, which while an unimaginative trait for such a race, is nice. And then as a general rule, the Salarians you meet are really quite nice.

On to non-council races, and in the first case, also a non-citadel race. The Geth, they are my favourite race from Mass Effect, due in most part to being unbelievably cute. Then their technological advancements are good, although I don’t like their ship design. They idea of a race of synthetic people is again, unoriginal, but this is the best beginnings of one I know of. And kind of makes me dislike Quarians. I prefer the Geth to the Geth Heretics, and would quite like to see more of them in Mass Effect 3, especially after I reprogram them all. Done that every time so far. The Geth mentality, and being the only true diplomacy I can think of, is an interesting concept. The multiple simple (well, not quite) programs interacting to create AI is, in my opinion, the most viable method for attaining AI.

Now I move onto the Quarians. No longer a citadel race, and somewhat mysterious, what do they look like behind those masks? Personally, I’d rather never find out. I do like them though, for building the Geth, less so for attempting to exterminate them upon discovering they’re intelligent. I wonder if they did that with their children? As for Quarian physiology, what can I say? Not a lot. Barely know anything about it, just that they’re allergic to most everything.

Their current civilisation structure is one I’ve always found interesting. An entire species living aboard ships, expensive to maintain, with stations it would be quite easily feasible; well, comparatively easily. You can link them to a planet or star, and there’s your energy, but to have them completely mobile? I suppose with the technology from mass effect it’s relatively easy. But the amount of thought Bioware put into it is nice.

I may have to stop soon if I want to post this before midnight, or sleep… so I will.

I’ll try to get rounf to finishing it some time, and maybe stop posting so much about Mass Effect.

Thanks for reading, ta-ta.

The Lord of the Ringses… watching again… and other things.

Posted in advertising, Books, Dungeons and Dragons 3.5, EMA, Friendlings, Games, Ian, J.R.R. Good evening.

Its 13:31, which is not only a lovely time, but also when I started watching The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, for the first, and presumably last, time on 07/05/2011.

Awesome battle scene, not as good as the later ones, but this one has a cuddly lickle Sauron.

Okay, I can’t type that well today, but I have cleared my desk… well, the part in front of my keyboard, aside from the mug, two glasses, knife, phone and sachets of sugar. So not exactly cleared it…

This scene always makes me wonder what happened Gollum between here and his later appearances, not in Moria, after that, when he’s no longer so dark skinned.

Concerning hobbits. Certainly shorter than in the book, but that had a significant impact on the amount of information it gives you…

Gandalf’s late. Should I continue these one sentence comments on the film?

The film also portrays the shire as being smaller, and later on they get out of it a lot faster. I’m only 148 pages into the book, (out of 531) so I won’t be able to continue that comparison for long.

They’ve managed to cram several dozen pages into 20 minutes… removes a lot of the detail…. I suppose it’s necessary though… I wonder how long the films would have been if they’d included everything?

They are certainly good sets… I quite like hobbit houses, well, the rich hobbits ones… good insulation, although they don’t seem to have electricity… or internet connections…

I want that right… maybe without the whole corrupting you, and turning you evil thing, but it’s fun… especially if you could get the writing to glow without putting it in fire…

This next few minutes should be twenty odd years… well, 17… no real indication of whether or not it did… no evidence it did at all, so I assume it doesn’t… that was a somewhat confusing line wasn’t it…

Mmm…. Stilton… okay, I got approximately (err… 1.5 x 5 x 6…) 45 cubic centimetres of stilton, and err… ate it. I don’t understand why so many people don’t like it… although… this film is making me want to play The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle Earth II, Rise of the Witch King… but that would require my disc drive… so I can’t do that…

Nazgûl! Yay! So cute! Well, no, not really, very not cute… sort of hideous really… their Horses are nice.

So, you may remember a while ago, I tried to do this. My own written commentary of these films, but WordPress didn’t save them; let’s see if it’ll work properly this time.

That part annoys me… the ‘if I take one more step, this will be the furthers from the shire I’ve ever been’… well done you idiot. So’s you next step, and the one after that… and so one for quite some time…

That’s an odd magical shape changing cliff… got shorter, lost the rocks, and gained the trees and ferns… not that I particularly want the actors to fall to their deaths using the first cliff, I just don’t like inconsistences…

Okay, I think I’ll post this now… set it to publish before midnight to make sure I post it on time…

Okays, has done that… now I know how to. Thank you Simi.

Númenor! Well, sort of… Hello Aragorn!

Deceptive scene there, I would quite like to have seen a version where the Nazgûl did get the ring. But we’re far passed where I’ve read…

You know, I’m confused because they didn’t have that horse earlier… and the original ‘you know,’ I’m going to have to pause this for eating, and Doctor Who…

Weather top, Amon Sûl. Did I ever play on that map? I can’t remember…

I really need another disk drive… there’s a lot for one…

I went on Impulse, to see if they had, long title incoming, The Lord of the Rings, Battle for Middle Earth II, and it’s expansion, they don’t, but they do have Section 8: Prejudice, which I want, also want its predecessor, they don’t have that.

And I missed all the ‘y’s in that paragraph… technically it’s a paragraph… don’t really think it’s long enough to be one personally… but grammar isn’t opinion…

Look! An Elf! Hello Arwen! I want to stab her… is that mean? Perhaps… and I’m going to steal a coaster… my last one got soaked in neurotoxins.

Not a joke, it did. Seriously. Although it was just fly spray, not anything interesting. Not in significant enough quantities to do much to me…

There’s an elf being chased by some Wraiths… shape they don’t stab her… she’s about to be really mean to their Horses. The Nazgûl themselves are rather prone to not dying, but their horses don’t seem to share that quality.

Eagle! So cute! But doesn’t Gandald mysteriously reacquire his staff later? It’s qeird. That was a ‘q’, not a ‘w’… that’s wrong…

Nice sword, Narsil. Don’t drop it… that’s most impolite. Bad Boromir. I’m GLaD you die for that. Well, not for that… but you doing that makes me happy knowing you do die…

I have to say, this version is by far better than the non-extended one. There are a lot less holes, (still quite a few though…) it’s a longer film, has better menus.

What’s that scene called? The council of Elrond? Something like that… fun scene.

Disc one finished at 15:11…

Disc 2 starting 15:12.

Page 3, in Microsoft word. Well, if I continue with 2 pages per disc, then that’ll be fun.

Bilbos sword, I prefer the Elven blades in Oblivion personally… I think they were loosely based on the ones from tLotR…

And now Saruman’s shouting at the snow… you know, I barely commented on the introduction to the first disk this time round.  Last time I did this I had about a third of a page on it… but they’re going to Moria, so there’s going to be a cute little Balrog!

I’d like some mithril… it looks nice…

KE VII is being negligent again. They haven’t been giving people EMA, seemingly out of laziness. They’ve sent out notices to people, who missed lessons telling them they’re not getting any until they’ve provided reason for their absence, but they haven’t paid anyone else either.

Swine. We should mug them or something. Is it a crime if they owe you the money? Yup. Shame…

In what scenes does Legolas fire CG arrows?

And now they’re being mean to Cave Trolls. And that’s a lot of goblins…

Here comes the cuddly little Balrog. Don’t you just love them? So cute, and numerous, or not… is it seven? Or thousands? And again Boromir nearly dies; he certainly takes his time succeeding at that…

None of my methods of commentating really work for this… usually it’s a series of sarcastic comments regarding what’s happening at that instant, but you can’t see what I see, so that doesn’t work…

Regardless, these films are just awesome. Although I don’t like watching them, for two reasons, they’re very long, and after them any other film just seems a bit crap.

He shall not pass.

What’s the plural for Balrog? Is it just Balrog? Or is it Barogs? That doesn’t sound right…

Haldir, hello. How are you today? Galadrial will appear soon won’t she? Lord Celeborn, and Gladriel, Lady of Light. Fun names the elves have. Hello. You want to talk to Gandalf.

I’m getting hungry again… I’m going to go forage… should I pause this? Might as well… pausing at 16:01.

Unpaused 16:04. Apparently food cooked for meski, well, I say cooked. It’s cold meat, but anyway, meal on a Saturday featuring a Doctor Who, when the two don’t happen at the same time! Oh, what terrible poetry. I say for meski, I mean all who are eating here today. Don’t know who that is… I’m assuming Benski, Mother, Father and I. not so sure about Emski, when does she finish work today? Don’t know why I phrased that as a question, this won’t be posted until about midnight… so I’ll know by then…

01:31:ish, and the credits have started, time is 16:46.

1:57:27 credits ended. 17:12.

Changing disc…

The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers starting at… when it actually reads it… loading… I want more cheese… 17:15

Pausing at 17:21, (o0:06:00) to eat.

Started playing again at 17:37

Doctor who starts at 18:15…

Hello Gollum.

Okay, I barely wrote anything there, but at 18:15, 00:43:46 I’m pausing it for Doctor Who.

19:02, back the Lord of the Rings, to the Two Towers.

I hacen’t been writing much recently have i…

First disc finished at 20:02. And second started at 20:05

Credits started at 21:49, approx. 01:44 into the disc…

02:03 into disc… 2209.

Starting disc one of The Lord of the Rings Return of the King at 22:12

Deceiving .

That’s there for a reason…

Aww, murderous Hobbits fishing.

So, I’ve been watching these without typing much recently, partially due to the presence of a Benski, I don’t really like writing anything while people are watching… or people reading anything I write until it’s complete… that annoys my teachers… especially Miss Williams.

He annoys me, I mean, I’ve got this taking up about a sixth of the screen, ant Cyberlink PowerDVD on the rest, (better playback quality then windows media player) so I can watch the film, and write this. I’ve even been compressing internet browsing into this sixth for updating posting version. He, however, is sitting in a chair, allegedly watching the film, but actually just reading things. Currently about Drow.

Had some fun discussions about Dungeons and Dragons, Satan’s game. No, just 3.5. no riders from Snowbourne?

So, we’re 1:30:56 into the first disk of The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King, and its 23:45. I get an inkling it will be tomorrow by the time I finish this…

This is odd for me; I’m about 5 feet from the monitor, so I had to bring the keyboard with me to keep typing. My desk’s only one arm’s length, minus the last segment of my middle finger, away, but I can’t really type at that…

Page 5. Is that a good thing? Might switch to a different view mode… one other than print layout, I don’t like all this A4 sheet-ness, I don’t print these, or save them offline for that matter.

Allrighty, I’m going to add this to my to-post at 23:55 I think it is… making sure I get today, so I’ll update it with the rest later.

Thanks for reading my beloved fiends. Ta-ta, for now.

Love Willski.

Okay, I’m back. And it’s 23:54 in my world. And yours, but it probably isn’t when you read this, unless you’re Benski, in which case you can see me typing this. 23:55! HUZZA!!! Don’t know why.

I want to eat, or drink, I’m not sure which… either way it’s 23:57, and I think it still hasn’t autoposted…

There it goes! Huzza!

Elves going underground where Dwarves won’t… yay? Is that the correct plural for Tolkien’s Elves? I know he had a strong impact of the terminology of such things. It’s an elven sword rather than an Elfin sword now. What other words have gone from fiction into common use? Halitosis…

Hehe, the Drawf is scared of the dead. Perhaps because they’re still around…

Ha! I wrote Dwarf as Drawf. I’m a pillock.

I really want to add an accent to the ‘r’ in ‘scared’. And Aragorn is trying to be dramatic.

Anyway, where was i? aah yes. Tolkien’s effect on things. That’s led to some rather annoying opinions of peoples, for example, Ian is under the delusion that prior to Tolkien all elves were the Germanic style, the 2 foot, tricksters. Seeming to (and actually, when in conversation,) dismissing things such as the Æsir that portrayed similar qualities to the elves in Tolkien’s works. He holds the same opinions on other things, apparently all halflings are based on Hobbits, I’l again concede some of the naming is the same, but his example of DnD halflings is completely wrong. The DnD ones are thin, adventurous, nimble, intelligent, and nomadic. Tolkien’s are fat, gardening drunkards, who despise those who leave the shire for being unhobbitly. Then of course, you have other things, DnD Halflings are genetically programmed thieves, they’re shunned bby most other races, and are eaten by Gnolls. So I’ve gone into another Anti-Ian rant… that’s quite annoying, that I target him. Mostly because he’s the only one I’ve discussed they subject with in person…

00:16 and disk one is finished. 00:18 starting disk 2.

I really want to play a good Dungeons and Dragons campaign, I’m attempting to write one. As you may know, I don’t think I’ve done much on that for a few months though… the whole trying to concentrate on work and not failing at life that had me spending most nights on various games. I’m not good at that. (gaming, or life.)

Gollum’s not good at poetry…

Page 6!

I need to buy more books… not going to name them here, because I can’t remember how to spell them… and I’m too lazy to check… hehe…

I’m going to get a drink, back in a minute. Back. No idea how long I was gone… meh…

Have you ever tried singing The Confrontation (or sometimes just Confrontation) from Les Miserable on your own? Damned difficult. Hard to sing two different verses, simultaneously.

And Eomer(?) is trying to burn his son alive. That’s an odd thing to do in the middle of a battle…  he needs to get his priorities sorted.

Attack Trolls! Awesomes! Good gate breaching force. The animators/renderers/whatever weren’t overly generous with them. They’ve got surprisingly simple textures compared to most of the other stiff in the film.

But at least Frodo’s been stabbed by a giant spider, so I guess all isn’t lost. But why does she make me think of Tyranids?

Skyrim will have giant spiders. There have been quite a few threads on Bethesdas forums by arachnophobias asking for them to be removed. I wanted to say arachnaphobes, but that’s not a word.

Talking to Simi about Star Trek online for about 2 ½ minutes, I want to play that, and Eve online. They’re the only pay-for MMORPG type things that really interest me…

The Witch king of Angmar fighting Gamdalf. Also Pippin and Shadowfax… although the not-quite-horse isn’t doing much…

So, how are you? You’re not going to respond? Because you’re a bunch of advertising bots, and people looking for information about Toby Turner? Okay. I’m sad now. Well, and quite a few people searching Gute Muttertag, or Salad Plate.

Anyway, enough about me, and my blog. I would ask about you, but, err… this is now nearly two and a half thousand words long, so I doubt anyone is still reading, or started for that matter…

Mumakil! So cute, why are the Rohirrim so mean to them? And my apologies for most likely spelling that incorrectly. For some reason, it’s not in the dictionary.

You’d think the Men would figure out how battles work in that. Your fortresses are attacked, defences overrun, and then you retreat to the keep. After that, the Rohirrim charge takes out most of the attackers. In this instance some green floaty people prance around after that… but that doesn’t usually happen.

Simi’s a pillock… says the Nazgûls’ flying steeds are surprisingly easy to kill, just because decapitation is fatal for them.

The Dead seem to have an advantage over the living in battle, they can’t be killed. Seems almost unfair.

Page 7

And maybe the witch king shouldn’t have said ‘no man can defeat me in battle’. Perhaps just ‘no one’, although then you’d probably get a schizophrenic doing it. Gollum maybe… and someone phone the RSPCA, Legolas is shooting animals.

Simi’s being eaten by Zombies… weird…

44 minutes into this disc, and the battle of Minas Tirith is won. 01:04. But there’s still a lot of this film left…there’s another hour and twenty five minutes… I want to sleep! Not sure why I’m tired… but I feel compelled to finish this film…

The ring has been destroyed, and there’s still nearly an hour left. It’s 01:46 now.

There’s a laughing hobbit in bed being bounced on by a pair of hobbits, while a cackling old man watches… that seems somehow wrong… and poorly worded.

This is going to drag on isn’t it… hmm…

I feel like singing…

Can’t be bothered…

Rawr!

01:49:10, (02:07 real time) and the credits have started!

Gaah… still got 25 minutes of credits left…

They’re about to end! 02:10:01 and it’s done!

02:28 in the real world.

So that is all.

Thanks for reading, have a great Sunday, and ta-ta.

Love willski.

Good evening.

So, I’m doing my ICT project work still, it’s 21:45, it’s due in tomorrow.

I have a minor problem in that I can’t print it. Well, not here anyway. Unless I can convince the other printer to work…

Nope, that’s not going to happen, I’ll see how well I can get mine to print it without ink…

This’ll go well.

Hehe, so that’s 30% of my ICT course that I’m not going to get many marks for, or any… so, that’ll be fun.

Meakin won’t be pleased. Err, so I’m going to see whether I can finish that before I die of exhaustion. That reminds me, when post came sans ink cartridges this morning I lost all motivation to work, and spent four and a half minutes running around the garden with Archie, harder than it sounds. The actual running is quite easy, except he’s a Red Setter, so he’s very fast, and has good stamina. I’m comparatively slow, and ran out of breath in 30 seconds. So that was fun…

Inaccurate Lynx excite advert. All the angels that fall in it are female. I’m quite sure they were all male.

And I had a driving lesson earlier, which kind of disrupted my working a bit. I’ve got back into my old habits of drifting gradually left… he doesn’t like that…

Err, yeah, I’ll post this so it stops distracting me.

Good evening one and, well, probably just the one of you…

Readership is down, probably due to my semi-random posting times, but who cares? It was never that high anyway, or my primary concern.

I just had a driving lesson, which was fun, talking about cars that drive themselves, e.g. KITT, old people, last words, and eradicating the mentally inferior. Fun!

It’s all horrible and sunny today… I just found a sugar puff in my keyboard… anyway, sunniness, I feel like going for a walk somewhere, but it’s too sunny! I’ll get a ‘sun tan’ (negligibly so), or turn to ash or something… but really want to walk… anyone care to join me? Tell me if you do.

I went on Supreme Commander this morning. And didn’t cheat, because I don’t, what’s the point? Okay, I do, and did. But only teleporting units that got stuck in buildings… anyway, I won, which isn’t exactly surprising, I usually do. Well, always if I’m actually playing… (I don’t play against people) but today there was an unusual difference in score between me and the AI…

That legible? Meh, who cares. Click on it if it isn’t.

Amazing game though. It’s an RTS where the computer can’t spawn any unit it wants, increased difficulty doesn’t just tweak unit stats, it alters the AI, (easy will spam low tech units, and wont manage economy particularly well, or construct defences, up to Adaptive which constantly modifies its tactics depending on what it finds effective.) it’s a nice change from Halo wars, with its’ incompetent AIs! They don’t even do obvious things, like pull units back when there base is under attack. That would make sense on Sup Com, with its 80km maps… Frostmill Ruins, awesome. So, I highly recommend you play it. Craig. I’ll buy you a copy, how much does it cost? We’ll see… need money though… EMA yet? Probably not until next Wednesday…

Aah yes, Ian and Craig, being gullible incompetent foolish swine, yeah, string derogatory terms together… are doing some charity thing. My opposition to charity prevents me from sponsoring them, so instead, I shall laugh at them from a distance. That’ll be fun…

Slightly random, sorry about that, my minds works weirdly, those things are linked, I assure you.

Grr, keep seeing things wittering on about Killzone 3. I think they’re adverts… I really want to play that, and killzones 1 and 2, but I lack the games, or functional relevant consoles… annoying… I’ll get them eventually, probably in about 5 years :D.

I’m going to go assault iPlayer, thanks for reading. Ta-ta.

Good Evening.

Left 4 Dead 2 arrived this morning, so I spent a while on that. Twas quite fun, for a time. Then the tedium of dying seconds from completion, (‘seconds’ usually ranging from 20, to 200 ish) kind of got annoying. So I gave up. (no idea why, but that reminded me I was going to but The Lord of the Rings Books, only the Hobbit, Fellowship of the ring, two towers and Return of the king for now. More later. I think it was the wording of stuff… that’s nice and vague)

After that I went on Call of Duty World at War, zombies. Great fun, even if I did only last until round 3… yeah, I’m not that good… conversation with Simi.

Simi: How can you be down already?

Me: I’m shit.

Which I felt was quite accurate, if unnecessarily vulgar.

I still haven’t got Der Reise. Because the swine that do the EMA at KE VII still haven’t done it for last week. Yeah, that’s my only income… I need a job… but not yet. Other things first…

Excuse my spelling. I’m to lazy to check it.

And hungry, I’m going to go forage.

Thanks for reading, Ta-ta.

Confused by Ians, Wars, (of the Halo variety) and Undercooking Chickens

Posted in advertising, Benski, Family, Friendlings, Halo Wars, Ian, KEVII, Rants, reminiscing, tedium, thoughts, Tom, XBOX 360 on 16/02/2011 by willsalt

Good Evening.

If you pay any attention to the Urls of these things, I never bother changing them, but I can… This post was originally about ‘Uddercooking Chickerns’. Weird…

So, as you may have seen, on facebook yesterday I said:

why do so many people on yahoo answers include ’10 points best answer’ in the question?
That’s how the website works, you don’t need to say it! Idiots. please, just burn. Slowly.

A valid mini-rant. What I didn’t expect was that Ian would like the idea of burning a couple of hundred people for stating the obvious… then again, he is religious…

So, I went on Halo Wars, awesome game, that was fun. I do not recommend Cyclops spam. Or flamethrower spam… but I didn’t lose a game, except when Benski put him, Tom and me against 3 legendary AIs… that wasn’t exactly easy… but was a complete and utter failure.

So, as I may have mentioned, KE VII are forcing us to do the pointless timewasting shit commonly known as ‘International day’. A basic overview for those of you who don’t know.

Instead of our usual lessons, in which we learn semi-usefull information, and work towards examinations, for qualifications, we are forced to wander around the school partaking in the most pointless of activities, such as ‘the empires game’, or ‘nuclear weapons’ (that sounds interesting, but I assure you it isn’t.) This, as you can probably imagine, isn’t taken particularly well by the students, and the merge the years, so it’s basically sitting in a room, with a bunch of childish plebs I don’t know, who are all whining about having to do it.

And to top it all off, the expect us to pay for the privilege. £1, not much really, but then you have to remember, it goes to charity. Or more specifically, building some building for some people somewhere. But then, they give you a purple thing, that probably costs close to £1 to make, and pay people to come in and teach special stuff! So overall they make a loss. Why don’t they just give the money they would spend on it to the weird building stuff, and let me have a nice relaxing last day of term, with 3 lessons?

That rant kind of got a bit, err, terrible near the end… I don’t type quickly enough for my thoughts.

So, to try and get out of that, I’ve been trying to convince my mother to undercook some chicken for me. Great idea right?

It’d work.

Under most circumstances I’d have  comment saying something like ‘I hope they don’t read this’ her, but not this time, because I really couldn’t care less.

Well I could, but it would be difficult… I think I’d care less for some children being slowly roasted alive in an orphanage… but that’s getting childish, so I’ll leave it there… before it degenerates much further…

DONKEY!

Too late…

Anyway, thanks for reading. Ta-ta.

Evenin’

That name will really convince you to read this…

I have ordered things… that’s good. Don’t know how long it’ll take to arrive, coming from America… last time it was about 5 days or something… I’ll check, I think I mentioned it on here somewhere…

5 weeks early apparently…

So, what happened today? My watch died this morning. It made some strange beep-ey noise, and reset to some time on the first of January 2005. That was fun… would have been more so if it hadn’t happened at 01:45 ish… speaking of time, I have my phone set to display the time in Los Angeles, for reasons those of you who know me well should be able to surmise.

So, I’m currently removing shoes, which is great fun when there’s a kitten fighting my shoelaces…

I’ve been listening to Toby’s guitar playing-ness, which isn’t overly varied… so in no particular order, the ones I’ve been listening to… don’t know why, most of you don’t watch videos I post… yes I’m talking about you two, Tom and Mother.

Most of those are quite old… by my standards…

I wonder what rumours they were trying to dispel.

what else can I say, aside from posting other peoples work…

MY Biology homework includes yesterday’s blog, I typed them both in the same window, I think I was trying to be economical or something… perhaps egomaniacal… anyway, I didn’t delete it before I printed my biology work. The blog didn’t exactly fit on one page, so the first page of the weird question-ey things says’ Love Willski’ at the top, great fun.

As you may have noticed if you’ve been anywhere near me recently I’ve been coughing a lot. But good news, it no longer leaves the taste of blood, and bits of organic tissue in by mouth! Awesome! Still painful though… someone told me to see a doctor about that… god no, I’ve seen Assassins Creed Brotherhood multiplayer!

Hehe, not good…

I have to go play Cirtyville for mother. But I highly recommend against playing anything by Zynga. Mainly because I get addicted to them…

Anyway, thanks for reading, Ta-ta.

Driving lesson of unknown number, conversations, Dead Space 2 Literal trailer, and more Canadian entertainment…

Posted in advertising, Arrogant Worms, Benski, Driving, Driving Lessons, Family, Friendlings, Matt, Microsoft Office 2010, Music, Other Software, PC, Rants, reminiscing, tedium, thoughts, Tobuscus/Toby Turner, Toby Turner on 28/01/2011 by willsalt

Good Evening.

As you may know, I usually write the title first, to remind me what to write, not doing that this time. Mostly because I forgot to open firefox, just Word…

So, today, the most significant occurrence would, of course, be my driving lesson. This week my driving was appalling, even worse than usual, which is a very difficult thing to accomplish. Not all my fault, for example, coming off a roundabout, but pulls in in front of me, then stops, much fun was had there, and suicidal crazy drivers, on the wrong side of the road, get back onto the correct, left, side hit the kerb, then drive off opening and closing their doors.

The most interesting part had to be the conversations with driving instructor, who went to hospital with some disease, and came out with an even worse disease, hence missing lessons. The car, some Citroen thing, has a display on the dash board telling you what gear it thinks you should be in, so, for example, when you’re rolling down a hill, at almost 50mph, (in third gear for some reason) approaching a blind corner, it tells you to change into 4th. Personally I’d much rather break. I didn’t. That’s there to try and put you in the most economical gear, use least petrol, so I suggested they save energy by disabling the lights in the display, in fact just all the lights, including head lights, indicators, break lights, etc. Driving instructor, whose name once again eludes me, quite correctly pointed out that this would result in more crashed. Excellent! Fewer cars on the road! A brilliant plan, don’t you think? Evidently I don’t.

Talks about global warming, the cyclists are saving the planet, get a horse! They’re cute, but you do have to feed and stable them, which while cheaper than petrol, if your car breaks down, you don’t have to shoot it, and buy a new one.

As I mentioned, my driving was a bit crap, within 5 minutes I’d stalled more times than Benski had in his entire lesson, somewhat disappointing… so I pointed out it’s better to fail spectacularly then just fail, so I might as well keep stalling, maybe run down some pedestrians, (I remember Charles Langer’s pronunciation of that, Ped-A-Strains, hilarious) maybe a lamp post… kind of worrying when instructor agreed…

We did of course cover the lovely topic of the horror that is the driving test, which is held on British roads, with their faded road markings, and excessive spine compressing, life shortening speed bumps… so yes, no road markings, where to go to turn right? Presumably to the right, what if I don’t know which way is right? Apparently that’s a common problem during driving tests, forgetting your primary school education, is 70 higher than 30? We’ll never know, driving examiners pointing where to go… Anyway, to solve the problems with that, just always turn the wrong way. Simple! Also, see if the examiner will learn, will (s)he start telling you to go the wrong way? Then you can start doing what you’re told, great fun!

You’ll probably find a lot of this posted in Bens Blog… which you should read; it’s generally more interesting than mine.

So, what else happened today? I left the memory card for my phone at home, yay!

I’ve been becoming more progressively fonder of Toby (I could probably just leave it there… but I won’t) where was i? Toby’s’ Dead space 2 literal trailer, as you may have seen yesterday on Facebook, it’s growing on me, like a fungus. That reminds me of Gingie… ‘When they made me they threw away the mould, unfortunately it’s started growing back’. Was he quoting someone there? Perhaps, perhaps not.

Anyway, Dead space 2 literal trailer, which may be featured below. If I remember to add it.

Who wants more of that marvellous Canadian entertainment? Who cares, here’s some anyway.

Yeah, if I forget to add the videos, that won’t make sense.

So, anything else noteworthy? Nope? Excellent.

Thanks for reading, have a lovely/ painful weekend, depending who you are, Ta-ta.

Love Willski.

Good Evening.

Why huzza? Mostly because I have no idea what I’m going to write, so I can’t think of an appropriate title.

I’d quite like to have witty titles on these things, but my complete lack of a sense of humour, in the traditional sense, so of stops that… I say traditional sense, because I do have a sense of humour, but no one else thinks it’s funny…damn you everyone else!

Played some ODST today… it still thinks I haven’t completed the campaign, I’ve done it on legendary several times with Benski, Tomski, Jameski, and Gingieski… on that note, I still need to get Vidmaster Endure, and Déjà vu… Lovely Microsoft word, put the accents there for me, yay!

I also need lightswitch… I forgot about those while playing reach…

Anyone want to drill a hole in my wall? I want to put an Ethernet cable through it, I have a 10 metre one, but that’s not long enough for the current route, and I don’t feel like getting another 15m one… that costs money… I always need money, I really should get a job. But I won’t.

Not until June anyway… after my exams.

What to do tonight? odd… the ‘What to…’ reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel… which song is that? Aah yes, ‘For Emily, whenever I may find her’, but that’s ‘what a…’ weird…

So, things to do, Halo 3 Vidmasters, Mass Effect 1 & 2 playthroughs, (enough mass effect 1 to get 2 characters to level 60, and one for each on Mass Effect 2, if I can get to level 30… should be able too, after collectors, if not before… Preparation for Mass Effect 3, of course.

Pre-order Skyrim…

Halo 3 ODST campaign to actually register, finally finish Bioshocks… AC Brotherhood and ACII collectables…

Yeah, I’ll do that after exams too… when is that? 5 months? That’s got to be the furthest in advance I’ve planned anything… and that’s probably not good… just kicked my Xbox, that’s not good either…

That’s something, my mother is a very deceitful cook, so never trust anything she serves. We’ve had Chicken that was really pheasant, Chicken that was really Pork, chocolate cake, with Beetroot in…which explains why it tasted a bit weird… I also can’t think why you’d put beetroot in it, with the temperature and time it’s cooked for, any beneficial-ness is just obliterated, it makes it taste a bit weird… not very weird, weird enough to stop me having seconds….

She also tried to convince me that me and Benski loved beetroot as children, I have very contradictory claims form Wendy, who says we hated the stuff, but they wouldn’t give us anything else… If they tried that now I’d just starve to death…which would be great fun.

Of course, they’d claim it was my fault, ‘oh he just started refusing to eat anything…’ and knowing them, they’d probably believe it… they don’t seem to understand just how stupid their decisions are… a probably shouldn’t say this here, as they’re just about the only people who read this… but still, they say Wayne attacks the cats because he’s territorial, no he doesn’t, he does it because you used to reward him when he did, if he chased Norbert out the house you’d congratulate him, and give him treats. Grr… I’ll stop there, because I’m thinking of too many of those, and I don’t want to end up typing them all… also because I feel like I’m (for lack of a term I like, that immedietly springs to mind,) ‘Bitching’ about parents…

Intersting conversations with Tom at the moment…
